They say enjoy the journey... but I may be enjoying it a little too much
Welcome to the new blog! And what has just become in general a second iteration of this site.
I have had so much fun updating this thing, but in doing so have come to a kinda troubling realizationā¦ maybe I like tinkering around with the site more than I like writing stuff to put on it.
The whole point of this thing was to have a place to put my thoughts and interests, and Iāve yet to actually do a lot of that! Iāve just been coding cute things and then remaking them and then troubleshooting and then mobile optimizing and the cycle goes on. Is the journey really better than the destination for me?
This reminds me of a conversation I had with my therapist the other day about life. She compared it to Animal Crossing; the start of the game is so much fun, when youāre unlocking things and building. And then once you reach all those goals you worked hard for, you stop playing the game cause you get bored haha. I know thatās not everyone who plays Animal Crossing! But Iām the exact same way so it really struck me.
Itās been a challenge to make this thing, but Iād like the next challenge to be filling it up a little more. My inspiration for starting this site back up again after lying dormant for about 10 months was to spend less time on social media. Iām sick of scrolling on my phone. And it has deterred me from my phone quite a bit cause now all I do in my free time is code or rewatch Community! But ideally itād be a place for people to keep up with me and a place to connect with others. Does anyone even care about keeping up with me I cannot say. But of all the people on this Earth Iām willing to bet there will be at least one other person who reads these words. Iām waving to you through the screen! :-)
For all that talk of writing things to fill this place up, I feel the urge to start trying to make a comments sectionā¦ more codingā¦ hold me back! I need to write!
