I made this page a while ago and then never put anything here... oops!
I began self-studying IT in January 2026, and took a Google IT Certificate course on Coursea. My goal was to pass the CompTIA+ exams in the summer and then start job hunting, but this did not happen... because I got a job before I was even ready to take the test!
My job now is the 2nd of 3 IT jobs I ever applied to, and even better, it's in the video game industry. I actually wasn't even properly job searching yet but applied on a whim one day cause I felt guilty for having no full time job yet. And then I got asked to interview and then got an offer letter a few days later! How lucky am I!? I really feel insanely lucky to have any job in this economy, but extra super lucky to have one I find so interesting.
When I was trying to get a job in film, animation, or game design, I must've put in at least a hundred applications and got next to no interviews to show for it. It's a really hard time to be in any industry, but especially the arts. I don't know if I'll ever go back to trying to do art as a career, I really don't. But if you're in that boat, consider branching out to try learning something that seems vaguely interesting. Worst case, you don't like it and you stop learning. Best case, you discover a new dream job- and then get it! :-)
That said, I still want to take the CompTIA+ exams! So I'll keep studying and updating here with fun facts, thought, questions and struggles I have along the way. ☆
