...Perhaps the best concept album of all time, and one of the best examples of storytelling through the ART of the album. Period.
This album is so delightful not only on its own, but ESPECIALLY as a full experience. I took a long walk the other day and just listened to the full thing. It cured my Gen Z attention span rotted brain.
I've listened to this album many times since I was in middle school, but every time I listen I gain some more perspective. Knowing the lead singer wrote many of these songs about his own addiction, ed, and mental health problems gives me a lot to reflect on. As I get older and my own brain changes I relate to certian lines more or less than I used to. Lately, I've been resonating with 'Perfect'. I'm sure my relationship to these songs will change further- and in that way, it's a gift that keeps on giving.
Some of the albums on this page I think are objectively not the best, but special to me. This is not one of those. I think this should be required listening for fans of anything pop-rock-punk-adjacent. I just really do think it's that high quality. Give it a spin sometime!
